A 100th birthday celebration was held on Saturday, March 14th at the Atrium Retirement Residence in Orillia for Margaret Duffy Drinkle. More than 40 family members & friends were joined by Heather and Bruce Stanton, MP for Simcoe-North , who presented Margaret with letters from Queen Elizabeth II, Prime Minister Harper, and many dignitaries from the Federal and Provincial governments and Mayor Steve Clarke.
The third child of James Sylvester Duffy and Margaret Ann, nee Lepard, Margaret was born in Rathburn, ON, sister of Mary (Baye), Arthur, Elechia (Stockley) and Cecil.
Margaret’s career on the candy counter at Woolworths made her the favourite aunt of 28 nieces and nephews. Taking on clerical duties, her career took her to Edgar Adult Educational Centre and then on to a successful career in real estate. She continues to enjoy good health and a good conversation under the attentive care of Atrium staff
