As grade eight students at Brechin PS, three members of the current Twin Lakes senior boys basketball had a dream season of regular and tournament wins. Four years later, Harrison Laugalys, Harold Hunter and Hunter Noble contribute to a high school team with similar wins and goals. One of their public school coaches, Doug Gownlock, assists primary coach Jamie Bell. Tonight, Twin Lakes earned the finalist title in the 72nd annual Blackball Tournament. It was a close contest against their Belleville rivals in the first half of the game. In the end, the team was outshot 56-41. Thunderbird scorers were lead by co-captain and team MPV Gavin Long. Will Clarke and co-captain Harrison Laugalys each potted13 points. Harold Hunter and Hunter Noble continued to be used in defensive positions to shut down key opposing shooters. The boys finish their regular season this week against Central on Tuesday.
