A Day In The Life with Maude Barlow

Maude Barlow is the volunteer National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians, Canada’s largest public advocacy organization. The Council advocates for social, environmental, economic and trade justice. She also chairs the board of the Washington-based Food and Water Watch. Ms Barlow is an acknowledged leader in the international water justice movement, promoting sustainable use of the world’s fresh water resources and the right to water for all. Her latest book is Boiling Point, Government Neglect, Corporate Abuse and Canada’s Water Crisis. She served as Senior Advisor on Water to the 63rd President of the United Nations General Assembly and has addressed that Assembly, calling for a global plan of action on water based on the principles of watershed protection, public trust and the right to water She was one of the “1000 Women of Peace” nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005. She is the recipient of 11 honourary doctorates and numerous awards and is the author or co-author of 18 books and numerous articles and reports.
