A 17-year-old girl was part of a group of thugs who tortured a man over drugs and cash, Toronto Police say.
The victim was one of three men abducted in two separate incidents on Remembrance Day by the drug traffickers, police said yesterday.
Two men have been arrested but four others and the teen remain at large and are considered armed and dangerous.
Police say there are others, possibly three or four, whose identities remain unknown.
Supt. Ron Taverner said a group of seven suspects abducted a 22-year-old man at gunpoint in the Martin Grove and Rexdale roads area and whisked him off the street where he was beaten, but he later managed to escape.
That same night, the group abducted two other men and drove off with them separately.
One man escaped after he struggled, kicked out a rear windshield of a red Nissan and forced the driver to pull over on Highway 401 near Mavis Road.
The Nissan remains missing, but police seized two other vehicles, Taverner said.
The man, in his 20s, ran to a nearby home and got residents to call Peel Regional Police and was hospitalized.
The third victim, also in his 20s, was taken to an apartment and held overnight.
He was bound and "severely assaulted and tortured," Taverner said without elaborating.
The man was "eventually released the following day with demands of cash and drugs being made," he said. "They obtained nothing" from any of the victims... I don't think we can say it's a drug turf war. I think what we can say it was for drugs and money."
