WILES TRADED AWAY FROM TORONTO ROCK
Yesterday, the Toronto Rock traded Luke Wiles to Washington for Kevin Huntley and an undisclosed 2011 entry draft pick. They traded Huntley and Bill McGlone to Philadelphia for Peter Jacobs and an undisclosed 2011 entry draft pick. They also traded Jacobs to Rochester for Sandy Chapman.
SIGN UP FOR GIRLS' HOCKEY SATURDAY
The Orillia girls' hockey association is having a walk-in registration on Saturday from 1 p. m. to 3 p. m. at the Brian Orser arena.
Fees are $500 until Aug. 15, $525 after. Rep fees are $250 (peewee B, midget B) and $750 midget AA on top of the registration fee.
All interested girls are urged to sign up on this date. Women who are interested in signing up for an adult team are also invited to attend.

OFF-ICE CONDITIONING PROGRAM OFFERED
Back To Function will be offering an off-ice hockey conditioning program to gear up for fall and get participants in peak form in time for tryouts. The program consists of two one-hour sessions a week for four weeks. The sessions will be run by a certified kinesiologist and a current OUA player from the University of Waterloo. The progam is designed to improve players' conditioning, core strength, balance, speed, agility, power and flexibility. The program is co-ed; all are welcome. You may sign up as an individual player or you may have a group of players who would like to participate together to maximize the team-building elements of office training. The fee is $200 for an individual, but group rates may be offered. The program will begin on July 20 and runs on Mondays and Thursdays from 4 to 5 p. m. YORKE, HUDOBA BOTH SCORE HAT TRICKS
The following are results from play this week in the Orillia Ladies' Outdoor Soccer League:
IPC: Team Burton beat Kelsey's 2- 0 with goals scored by Amie Adams and Shannon Howes. An exciting game between Brewery Bay and Source for Sports ended in a 2-2 tie. Paula Coulson and Paula Teskey each netted a goal for Brewery Bay. Goal scorers were not available for Source for Sports.
Back to Function beat Bayside Restaurant 4-2. A pair of goals each were scored by Back to Function's Trish Thomas and Tina Osburn. Holly Vanier and Melissa McKee each netted one for Bayside Restaurant. Montana's and Flowers by June also finished up with a 4-4 draw. Carla Yorke got the hat trick for Montana's and Megan Hill scored a single. Martina Hudoba scored a hat trick for Flowers by June and Alannah Paylor netted a single.
BOYCE, STINNISEN SCORE FOR LADY MUSTANGS
In the Simcoe County Youth Soccer League, over-22 ladies' division, the Orillia BDO Dunwoody Lady Mustangs dropped a pair of close games in recent action.
In one outing, the Mustangs dropped a slim 2-1 decision to Collingwood. Orillia's Tricia Stinnisen scored the lone goal while Caroline Gilbert and Alex Brister played strong defensively.
In another game, the Lady Mustangs lost 4-1 to the Base Borden Cobras Lancers. Pam Boyce scored the lone goal for Orillia. Melaney Marwick and Lorelei Jenkins turned in strong efforts despite the lose.
CHIARAMIDA, FREEMAN SCORE FOR ROCKETS WIN
The Ramara Theo's Eatery Rockets blanked Wasaga Beach 2-0 in Simcoe County Youth Soccer U-14 Boys President's Cup Tournament play to advance to the next round.
Tony Chiaramida and Jerome Freeman had the goals for the Rockets with assists on both going to Robbie Embury.
The solid defensive play of Jesse Lessard, Mitchell Salter, Jeff Vivian, Brett Pajor and Bikram Khattra helped Dan Lafrance earn the shutout.
TERRIERS TOURNEY PLANNED FOR AUG. 7
The Jim Wilson Couchiching Terriers Annual Golf Tournament is being held Friday, Aug. 7 at Horseshoe Valley Resort on the Highlands Course. Cost to enter is $135 per player and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, dinner and prizes. To enter or for more information, call Roy Micks at 326-1624.
