Letter: It takes a village
The Orillia Teen Town Reunion 2017 committee would like to thank all those who helped and supported us for the recent spectacular event Aug. 19 at Barnfield Point Recreation Centre.
Sincere thanks to the nearly 600 people who attended and made it something very special, including many from all across Canada/U.S.
Thanks to the media: Packet & Times, Orillia Today, KICX 106, The Dock, Barrie Examiner and Rock 95.
We had a lot of people behind the scenes who made it possible, including the City of Orillia (Patty Ward and Mayor Steve Clarke) and Barnfield maintenance staff; the Cannington Lions Club, which rented us the tables and chairs; Mike Filer, tech support; Ron Gabriel (Upsight and Sound) and Orser Electric, sound; food cart owner Fred Lampl (North River Farm); Eli and his staff at Bayside Restaurant; Al Henry, who designed our posters; Pixels ‘N’ Print, which did our tickets/small banners; large banner, One Hour Signs; Steve Van Kessel for his company’s strong support and who opened the show with his Orillia Song; the Orillia Youth Centre, which helped with set-up and sold tickets.
Ticket outlets: Brewery Bay Food Company, CC Pant Shop, Alleycats Music, Terry Henry, Johnstone’s Music, BJ’s Records and Nostalgia, Orillia Youth Centre and Music Pro.
Draw prize providers: Dale Duncan and Ann Seman-O’Donal.
50/50 ticket sellers: Anne Lambertsen and Jody Ferrie.
It took a village and we thank all of those who attended and helped along the way. A cheque for $3,200 was presented to the Orillia Youth Centre.
