Terriers make it to Silver Stick semis

The Kelsey's major midget A Terriers were in Midland this past weekend for the regional Silver Stick tournament.

The Terriers started the tournament by defeating Erin Hillsburgh 2-0. Ben Peacock and Gray Sleep Carnahan each scored a single, with assists going to Tyler Gysbers and Dane Mullen.

Saturday, the Terriers skated to a 6-0 win over Collingwood. Point getters were Peacock (2g), Will Skalosky (1g,1a), Walker Hunter (1g,1a), Jordan Burnett (1g) and Luke Charlebois (1g). Assists went to Ethan Sleep (2), Diego Arreola, Sleep Carnahan and Colten MacDonald.

For the final round of the round robin, the Terriers lost a close one to New Hamburg, 3-2. Peacock and MacDonald netted the goals, assisted by Derik Hamilton and Jacob Dewey.

The Terriers earned a spot in the semifinals, where they faced off against Niagara-on-the-Lake. After two periods, the Terriers found themselves behind 4-0. They did not give up, and managed to come back and tie the game in the third with four goals of their own. This brought the game into overtime. The game went almost two more periods before Niagara-on-the-Lake got one by to claim the victory.

Goaltending was shared by Logan Matthews and Logan Woodrow.
