Orillia man charged with trafficking marijuana


An Orillia man has been charged after police seized more than $5,000 of marijuana from a vehicle Monday.

According to a news release, police received information indicating a vehicle was being used to transport the drug. Members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau with the assistance of the Orillia OPP Street Crime Unit stopped the suspect vehicle on Atherley Road.

Police said cash and about a pound of marijuana, with an approximate street value of $5,042, was seized following a search of the vehicle.

Leonard Fenton, 50, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana. He is to appear in court March 26.
