Preliminary Hearing set

BARRIE — Almost two years after the death of an elderly Washago man, a preliminary hearing has been set for a Ramara Township woman charged with his murder.

Margaret Lee Cole, 48, is charged with first-degree murder, theft and fraud. The victim, Richard Humble, 82, was pulled from his burning Riverdale Drive home, semi-conscious and badly burned, by neighbours April 9, 2011.

Police believe the fraud and theft were in relation to the victim’s estate and that Cole started the fire.

Her preliminary hearing, where witnesses will testify and some of the evidence will unfold, will start April 15.
