Clarke, Marsh named Swinimer business leader award winners

Chris Marsh and Steve Clarke of Brewery Bay Food Company were named the William (Bill) Swinimer Business Leader of the Year Award winners for 2012.
The pair received their award at the Orillia Business Association’s (OBA) 12th annual gala dinner at Bayview Wildwood Resort Nov. 20.
The award is given out annually to an outstanding business leader (or outstanding business leaders) in our community. Our region is fortunate to have so many business leaders who help build our community through their business leadership and community service.
The OBA is pleased to have the opportunity to recognize and thank them for their dedication to Orillia and the surrounding townships.
The nominees for this year’s award who were also recognized during the gala were Glenn McCurdy, Glenn Wagner, Krista Storey, Mike Davenport, Bob Brown and Kris Thor, and Valerie and Doug Hale/Carolyn and Ron Harris.
Previous winners of the award include Jim Wilson, Gini Stringer, Ken Forbes, John Weber, Jim Dykes, Doug Downey, Brian Nichols, Mike Davenport, Paul Larche, Tom Ruff and Sarah Valiquette/Ian Thompson.
In attendance during this year’s gala was a broad cross-section of the Orillia and area’s business community as well as a number of local dignitaries, including Jason Stanton, representing Simcoe North MP Bruce Stanton, Simcoe North MPP Garfield Dunlop, Orillia Mayor Angelo Orsi, Orillia councillors Pete Bowen and Tony Madden, Severn Township Mayor Mike Burkett, Severn Coun. Jane Dunlop and honoured guest Bill Swinimer.
